Having a soulmate isn’t always about romantic love, you can also find one in a friend. Some people think Jakey was ‘just a dog’. They don’t understand that some of my proudest moments have come from being with ‘just my dog’. Many hours have passed in the company of ‘just my dog’, and not once have I felt slighted. Jakey brought into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure joy. He brought out the compassion and patience that made me a better person. Because of Jakey I rose early, took long walks and looked longingly to the future. I hope that someday people can understand he wasn’t ‘just a dog’… Jakey was the guy that gave me humanity and kept me from being ‘just a person’. Love you buddy.
